Masjid Rules

MAR Board of Directors and members of the community would like to welcome you to the masjid.  Below is our solicitation policy, speaking engagements guidelines, and masjid rules.

All respected visitors and speakers are expected to follow the guidelines which are discussed later, when speaking at any event or when using the Masjid facilities. The intent of these guidelines are to ensure:

  1. That the congregation is able to perform their prayers, supplications and Zikr in a calm, peaceful and serene atmosphere at all times and especially after each Fard Salat.
  2. That the mosque facilities remain clean at all times.

Thank you for your understanding and full adherence and cooperation.

MASJID RULES:

Masjid rules are posted in the Masjid entrance and in both the men and sisters prayer areas.

SOLICITATION POLICY

MAR prohibit the solicitation of funds, the sale of goods, and distribution of printed materials on its premises by the general public, and commercial enterprises and organizations. Exceptions to this policy shall be as indicated herein.

RATIONALE:

MAR prohibits all direct or printed solicitation on its premises because such activity has the potential for: (a) impeding MAR donations receipts, (b) interfering with the normal operations of MAR , (c) being bothersome to patrons and attendees of MAR sponsored events, (d) exposing MAR to legal liabilities.

IMPLEMENTATION: 

MAR Board or its designee shall be responsible for enforcing this policy.

EXCEPTIONS:

MAR may give permission to Islamic Organizations to place their solicitation flyer of small size in the Community Bulletin board situated, in the masjid’s entrance.

  1. Violation of this policy will not be tolerated and MAR reserves the right to take appropriate measures to enforce this solicitation policy.
  2. With the approval of the Masjid’s Board, a recognized and well known organization may solicit donations from the congregants, provided solicitation of funds are exclusively for helping the victims of natural disaster and, provided such efforts are not in violation of laws of United States.

SPEAKERS GUIDELINES

  1.  All speaking engagements including announcements, lectures, sermons, and the venue (e.g. main prayer hall, community hall, etc.) must be pre-authorized by the Board of MAR in writing.
  2. Political assertions or any pronouncements are prohibited.
  3. MAR will not be held liable for anyone who violates these rules and policies.

USE OF PREMISES

Masjid Ar-Rahman is dedicated to serving the religious, social and educational needs of the local Muslim community in accordance with the Qur’an and Sunnah. The Masjid is the house of Allah and therefore its facilities are available to every Muslim. However, it is owned and administered by MAR which is the primary entity responsible for these goals.

The Board of Directors will allow others to conduct activities on the Masjid premises that further these goals. Prior to another organization conducting any activity, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Scope of Event:
    (a) All activities must be conducted in accordance with basic Islamic principles and in observance of the laws of the United States of America.
    (b) The activities must not promote hatred or discriminate against any groups or organization.
  2. Use of Facility
  3. No activity may be conducted which interferes with the normal operation of the Masjid including prayers, classes, and regularly conducted events.
  4. No organization will be allowed to conduct activity or promote their organization on a regular basis.
  5. Upon completion of the event, the facility and all property must be returned to the same state of maintenance, cleanliness and appearance as before.
  6. Promotion of Event a. Announcements: Requests for announcements, including after Jummah, other prayers, or other events, must be submitted to MAR Board of Executives for approval one week prior to announcement date.
